Exonicus was founded with a rich history rooted in innovation and a passion for pushing the boundaries of what's possible. Our journey began in 2013 when Sandis Kondrats, a visionary leader with a background in sculpting, innovation, and medical simulation, set the stage for our unique perspective on creating intricate and lifelike representations.
From these artistic beginnings, our focus evolved into the realm of medical training. Sandis's venture into the world of medical simulation with Anatomy Next paved the way for Exonicus. Inspired by the potential of virtual reality, he envisioned a platform that could empower medical professionals to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world scenarios.
In 2015, the rise of virtual reality headsets and the burgeoning metaverse captured the imagination of the Exonicus team. Soon after, we were inspired to harness this cutting-edge technology, channeling our high-resolution human anatomy drawings into immersive virtual simulation software.
In 2017, Exonicus embarked on a pivotal collaboration with the Madigan Army Medical Center. Our role was to lead the development of a groundbreaking trauma simulation training software for the U.S. Army. Building on our extensive expertise in human anatomy sculpting, book authorship, and publishing successes, we became the subject matter experts and software developers.
In partnership with Madigan, we developed a trauma simulator, designed to train military medical personnel in the application of life-saving medical techniques within a virtual emergency room environment. This collaborative effort gave rise to our flagship product, the Exonicus Trauma Simulatorâ„¢.
The benefits of our Trauma Simulator quickly became evident. Its portability and visually realistic settings, combined with Immersive Virtual Reality (IVR), proved to be highly effective for medical simulation training. This achievement marked the birth of the first Virtual Reality (VR) trauma simulator, revolutionizing the training of military medical personnel in combat and emergency medical treatment scenarios.
In 2019, an affiliated company, SIA Exonicus R&D, was formed as a single-purpose company for European Defence Fund projects. Its goal is to create virtual reality multiplayer software for European armies to enable multinational collaboration.
Today, Exonicus is a dynamic fusion of expertise, bringing together emergency physicians, healthcare technology specialists, and seasoned developers. We are dedicated to setting new standards in medical training, delivering state-of-the-art solutions that elevate skills, foster teamwork, and promote effective decision-making. Our commitment is to enhance the future of healthcare training and ensure that professionals are equipped with the best tools to excel in their vital roles.
